So I really need to do a review of Heavy Rain soon. I finished it within two days of purchasing it at 1am the night of its release, and I’m replaying it for a different ending – and for video footage, because really, if I’m going to do a review, I want to do it as a vlog.
But I’m at work right now and I have neither the resources nor the time to do it here. So you’ll just have to wait.
I don’t really have anything to talk about this post except for how excited I am about FF13 AND Resonance of Fate coming out this month. If I’m being honest, I’m more excited for Resonance of Fate. That game looks awesome. Like really freaking sweet. Like, holy smokes I want it now. I just hope it’s long. Please? I mean, I thought Heavy Rain was supposed to be long, but that took less than two days!
Except I’m not talking about that right now. That’s for later.
Anyway, yeah that’s all I really have to say. Resonance of Fate. AwkwardS says someone described it as looking steam punk, but it looks more industrial punk.

All right! I’m stealing the idea from Railz and the title from AwkwardS. I’ve turned Railz’s post about video games he’s looking forward to this year into a meme for my affiliates and anyone who might want to participate.
The rules are simple: post six unreleased games that are scheduled to come out this year that you are most looking forward to. AwkwardS is going to try not to do doubles, but it’s not a rule – it’s fine if yours overlap with another person’s list. Now, if you want to add AwkwardS’s rule as an extra challenge, go for it. If you choose to do this meme, put a link in the comments section of this post so I can read your list.
Anyway, let’s begin!
(I can’t get these images to center for some reason…Yes, I’ve tried all the usual methods. Oh well.)
Update: There are now trailer links in the description for every game listed. You can thank AwkwardS for making me feel guilty about being lazy earlier.

Poor Snow is largely overlooked as a main character when standing next to Lightning. (God, these names... -_- )
I just had to put this first after my last post. You can More >

Gosh, this just took me forever, and it shouldn’t have with how simple of a piece it is. But I spent a lot of time learning things while coloring, about light and shadow and shape and whatnot. (I didn’t do perfect, but I’m progressing.) It was fun, in a strange way. I liked working on it, even when it was tedious.
I used this tutorial as a guide for how to color. It’s the same one I used for the previous colored image I did, but I think I did better this time around (I also just spent more time on it overall. That last one was just a doodle for practice).
Clicking the image links you to the piece’s deviantArt page. Please feel free to leave a comment or criticism here or there. Thanks!

Seriously, come on immune system! Try harder! -_-
At least I have tomorrow off.
It’s been a while since I’ve done a photo-review on here (even though the images in my reviews aren’t really photos…). But I watched a perfect movie the other day and knew right away I was going to have to post about it.
It’s titled — hold on, actually. I just have to say, AwkwardS is near me playing MAG, and his character just told a comrade to rub some dirt on a wound. Who says that anymore?? Pfft lol.
Anyway, the movie I watched, with AwkwardS incidentally, was called The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, and it was just wonderful.
First, the film is just gorgeous. This isn’t uncommon for anime, but The Girl Who Leapt Through Time just does a perfect job visually. The animation style is a little different from standard anime, but the animation and the background detail add a level of quaintness that a lot of anime and non-anime movies fail to achieve.
Second, we have the story, and while the movie is beautiful, it’s the story that makes it shine. Makoto is your average high school girl – she’s not particularly great at anything, but she’s More >

So A-kon is in 5 months and I have NO CLUE who to cosplay. Yeah, I’d like to be Edward Elric, but I still don’t feel good enough with my sewing to try that – that’s one I really want to save for when I can do it right.
I was thinking of getting my group to do Pokemon, and even Railz suggested I be Misty for a day, but I was never a huge Pokemon watcher, I only wanted the cute cards that my friends gave me for free, and I never really got into the video games. So I don’t really want to go as Misty.
I liked Sailor Moon, but never saw the whole thing, and never watched it in Japanese. Sakura’s too young/little for me. Haruhi either too plain in her school uniform, or too…Haruhi in the bunny outfit. Final Fantasy is like FMA for me. Gotta do it right or not at all.
Maybe Metal Gear. I’d love to try Snake’s sneaking suit…Hmmm…
But that’s still only one day! I have Ishtar’s dress from Vampire Game, but I don’t know if it’s con-worthy. It was a great learning experience, but she’s so little known…
Siiiigh.
Oh yeah, I signed up for More >

Seriously, where are you guys? AwkwardS pops up every so often, but the rest of you just dropped off the face of the internet. What’s up with that? Not that this will get you to post. But I’ve noticed! You thought you could just sneak away…
Anyway, here’s my first attempt at cel shading!
I’m pretty pleased with how this came out. I’m particularly happy with how the hair looks. I know it’s all still very beginner, but I’m just going to keep practicing, keep trying to get better. I did notice that when I looked at this image on AwkwardS’s computer monitor, you couldn’t see the shading on the dress at all, so I’ll have to fix that eventually, but for right now I’m just going to leave it as is. Lalala.
There hasn’t been much to talk about this week.
AwkwardS and Frozen have both been to see Avatar and said it was a good watch, but I just can’t bring myself to go see it. All the money they put into that movie went to graphics and more than one source has said the story is just a rehashed Fern Gully. While I liked Fern Gully well enough, I don’t really want to see it redone with better graphics. First, I love 2-D animation. A lot. Not so big on the 3-D or CGI. Second, if I’m going to spend money to go see a movie, it’s not going to be a movie I’ve pretty much seen before. I put graphics second to story, as you can tell by my taste in (old) video games, so this movie just makes me annoyed. I’m tired of this trend lately in games and movies of graphics coming before story. What a waste of my time.
Now I’m gonna plug a bunch of stuff!
First, since we’re talking about movies, let me just say Miyazaki’s Castle in the Sky is brilliant. It’s an older film and does not need to be plugged at all, but I More >

I had to say goodbye to my Siberian Husky Brandi yesterday. She became a part of my family in March of 1996. I was eight and from that point on we grew up together. My brother and I lived in a neighborhood without any other kids to play with, so when Brandi came around, we really took her in as a sister. She was with us everywhere, getting into trouble around the house or playing outside. We had a really good 14-year run together. I will miss her very much.

I was reading AwkwardS’s post about Demon Souls and he mentioned something about a Major Demon (I don’t know, I haven’t played the game myself), and it made me remember Shadow of the Colossus. Remember that game? Sony made it and it was really similar to Ico in style and whatnot. Anyway, I own that game (I really liked Ico) and I hear the AI is great for its time, but I can’t get myself to play it because the goal is to kill all the colossi, the last of their kind, AND I JUST FEEL SO GUILTY!
There they are, just lumbering through the gorgeous scenery, and you come riding up on your tiny-by-comparison horse, leap at them and climb up their fur, and stab them in the skull or the neck or the eye or wherever their weak spot is. It’s like, they are ancient mythological creatures, you dumb hero! What are you doing?! Don’t stab them! They are kings!
Of course, he can’t stab them if I don’t control him. So I just kind of…don’t. I don’t even turn the game on. But I want to play it so bad! It’s supposed to be great, and my weird head just More >

Blargh.
I’m sick.
I practically observed it coming on with painful (and imagined) slowness two days ago (it all really happened quite fast). A woozy tummy, an irritated throat. And then the throat just worsened and by the time I got off work I was overheating.
But oh, no, I thought, let’s go over to a friend’s house to play an involving board game. So of course yesterday I was worse. Got a nice little temperature going when standing at my desk. I’m sure I looked real great with that spacey, unfocused-because-my-hardware-is-too-hot expression.
I’m slightly better now. Of course, I say that, yet it’s 7:30 in the morning and if I was all good, I’d be all happy sleeping instead of snuffling my way through a blogpost because I can’t breathe well enough to sleep. Blaaarrgh.
My mother says I brought this upon myself. The day before New Year’s Eve, it snowed pretty nicely, and AwkwardS, Frozen, and I, upon my brilliant idea to go play in it, went out onto the golf course behind my parents’ house. It was like walking across the heliport and fields of Shadow Moses. (I wanted to say Silent Hill, but there wasn’t enough blood and flying abominations around. Only More >
