What’s a flower without the sun? What’s a man without a purpose? What’s a Tablet PC without pressure sensitivity?
The answer is: not very much.
I’ve had no pressure sensitivity in any painting program since switching from Vista to Windows 7, and while I’ve believed this whole time that the switch was worth the sacrifice, I’ve always been a strong believer that technology should do exactly what I want it to exactly when I want.
And so I’ve been dissatisfied.
(AwkwardS can warn you not to get me started on my philosophy of dissatisfaction.)
Dissatisfied until now, anyway!
It’s a common problem and I finally just sat my butt down and said, okay internet, let’s do some research. I’ve tried to research it before, but I saw all the failed attempts and all the convoluted answers, and just quit.
But not this time. And here, internet surfers! I bring you the sacred scripture that has solved my problems.

New WIPs
Dec 27th
Two new original characters (OCs). I’m practicing drawing straight into digital programs instead of drawing on paper and then scanning in. Digital programs intimidate me to no end. I really just need to pick one and learn it really well. This is a first attempt at doing that.
This is Mariella. Yes, she’s a moth. She’s a gypsy moth, in fact. I kind of had a weird perspective going (it looks pretty wonky, but whatever), so I didn’t really do anything at all with her clothes. I think if I draw her again, and I hope to, I’m going to play around with some outfits for her. She’s not very happy about being a moth. (Yes, I was listening to Kate Nash when I named her…)
And this is Nil. Obviously this is very much a WIP.
Neither of these are on deviantArt yet. I will probably put Mariella up, but I’m only putting Nil up if I get more done with this image.
I really need to cool it with the number of layers I use. I make it so much harder for myself -_-

Dear Southern State in which I Live,
It snows every year. Every year, you put sand on the icy roads. Here are three things I think you should be aware of:
- Sand does not dissolve.
- Sand does not melt ice.
- When the ice finally does melt from the sun the next day, the sand is left behind and is just as dangerous to drive on as the ice, especially when it rains later.
Using salt the one or two times a year it snows will not rust cars.
Invest in salt.

Oh man oh man, I am STOKED. ECSTATIC. OMGOMG. Final Fantasy VIII was released on the North American PSN and I’m at the 23% mark in the download!
If you’ve got anything negative to say about this game, shut up before you even start. I was at a Halloween party several weeks ago and this guy was hitting on me incessantly (because I like video games and I’m cute? Dude, that shouldn’t be your only criteria) and when I brought up Final Fantasy and that I liked VIII best, he asked me who my favorite character was – and then proceeded to insult every single one of them. It’s like, dumbass, if you’re trying to impress me, don’t insult what I just declared as my favorite game and set of characters. Idiot. Seriously, I don’t know why he thought that made him seem cool.
So fellows, a hint: be smarter than that dipshit when flirting with girls.

Ugh, it’s a slow day at work, which would be great (I mean, it’s great no matter what, really), but I feel so out of sorts that I don’t want to really spend any of this open time doing anything productive. I don’t feel like reading or drawing or writing or browsing or studying or talking or anything. I just want to

Added a new piece to deviantart. It’s a fan art piece for the game Snatcher I wrote about on here a while ago. Katrina’s a pretty unfortunate character but she always seems a little too upbeat in the game.
So here she is in a slightly more solemn mood.

I work too much. People, stay in school. Forever. Yeah, you might think that then you’re just studying too much, but come on, you can at least be the sole decider of your schedule, to a certain degree. Don’t like waking up before 2pm? Well, don’t take a class before then. Only want to go to one class a day? That’s fine, too.
I’m pulling an eight day work week this week. Eight Days. There aren’t even that many days in a real week! Eight days a week, eight hours a day. This is a 64 hour week. Ridiculous. And today I’m all alone, so I don’t even get a break.
Although, because of that, I’m thinking of pulling out my tablet notebook and getting some coloring done on a piece I’ve been pretty exited to show you guys. Actually there are two pieces, in two completely different styles, by god damn I suck at coloring/drawing hair worse than I do hands. So we’ll see if I ever get satisfied enough to show you that second piece.
